Ribbon of Hope Commission
In April of 2013 the Beecher Village Board established the Ribbon of Hope Commission. The Commission plans to create what is believed to be the first of its kind, "Ribbon of Hope" Cancer Awareness Garden. The garden is to be built at the far northwest corner of Fireman's Park adjacent to Miller Street. The garden will promote cancer awareness in Beecher, to its surrounding communities and beyond. Everyone, from every town, is invited and welcomed to be a part of the energy and spirit of this cancer awareness initiative. The "Ribbon of Hope" committee's goal is to build and maintain the Cancer Awareness Garden for our and future generations.
The "Ribbon of Hope" Commission is looking for corporate, monetary, material, labor and service donations to make this dream a soon-to-be reality. Monetary donations can be made at the First Community Bank and Trust (Beecher and Peotone locations) as well as the Midland States Bank (Beecher, Grant Park and Bourbonnais locations.) Donations can also be sent to Ribbon of Hope, P.O. Box 665 Beecher, IL 60401.
As a fundraiser, standard brick pavers, which will create the walkway of the garden, are being sold and can be personalized at $100.00 per brick. Larger 8"x 8" pavers are for sale at $180.00 per brick.
The Ribbon of Hope Commission was founded to promote cancer awareness in Beecher, to its surrounding communities and beyond. The commission is made up of volunteers who donate their time.
