FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS
Starting Salary: $18.45/hr – $38,383/yr
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience with operating heavy-duty tools and equipment is a plus. To demonstrate the desire to learn, or have the ability to operate, various types of heavy-duty tools and equipment including backhoe, loader, skid steer and bucket truck. The general work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Must be able to respond to after-hours call-backs and be prepared for and confront emergency conditions as necessary. VACATION: 5 days after 1 year of service; 10 days after 2 years of service; 15 days after 5 years of service; 20 days after 15 years of service; 25 days per year after 20 years of service.
PERSONAL: 3 days after 6 months of employment, and 3 personal days on the employees anniversary each year after completion of probation (6 months – 12 months)
SICK LEAVE: 9 days per year
HOLIDAYS: New Year’s Day / Martin Luther King’s Birthday / Presidents’ Day / Memorial Day / Labor Day / Independence Day / Columbus Day / Veterans Day / Thanksgiving Day / Day After Thanksgiving / Christmas Day.
PENSION: Employees of the Village of Beecher contribute to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) at the rate of 4.5% per pay period. The Village of Beecher also contributes a percentage for the employee each pay period. Employee contributions are refundable if employment ends before retirement.
This position is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement with I.U.O.E. Local 399.
